On behalf of EPCH, Mr. O P Prahladka, Chairman, EPCH, gave an overview of the sector and also placed before the Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani and Hon'ble Union Minister of Finance, Mr. Piyush Goyal, strategies being adopted by the Council for export growth. Mr. O P Prahladka informed that both the Union Ministers gave a patient hearing to these issues and assured all possible cooperation towards resolution of all matters that are hampering handicraft exports from India. He further said, the meeting could be considered unprecedented as it was called on Sunday and reflects the sense of urgency on the part of the Govt. to kick-start the process of resolution of issues of various sectors and embark upon the path of export growth........more | |||||||||||||||||
Self Employment Training Program at Narsapur was initiated on 27th March 2018 with 100 lace artisans divided into 4 batches, at 2 different locations i.e. International Lace Trade Center (ILTC), Narsapur and Common Production Center, KP Palem, Mogalthur. Each batch had 25 lacs artisans each of Crochet Lace, Accessories and Crochet Lace-Furnishing. In order to impart training 4 well experienced and qualified trainers as per the guidelines of (NSDC) National Skill Development Corporation for the purpose were selected. As part of the Jodhpur Mega Cluster (CHCDS) Scheme, EPCH initiated a Skill Development Program in Jodhpur and Barmer. Within a time frame from 4th April to 25th May 2018, 11 batches with a total of 7 batches of applique craft and 4 batches of hand embroidery were trained .......more | |||||||||||||||||
