Chairman’s Message

                   Dear Fellow Exporters,
I am happy to share that the outcome of our concerted efforts bore fruit in the form of the recently
conducted GI Fair India, held at the India Expo Centre & Mart from 20th to 24th July 2023. The august
presence of our Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Textiles, Smt. Darshana V Jardosh, made our
fair’s inauguration very special. I thank her for her valuable presence, words of appreciation and
encouragement. With support from Ministry of Commerce & Industry; Ministry of Textiles; Cell for IPR
Promotion and Management and industry trade bodies, this B2B cum B2C show saw industry-wide
participation from PAN India and attracted several buyers from Delhi NCR, across India and overseas.
The fair has been instrumental in increasing awareness as well as demand for Geographically Indication
(GI) tagged products. I hope fellow members made the most of the opportunities offered at this show
in terms of connecting with original and primary producers.

While EPCH's overseas promotions towards IHGF Delhi Fair's Autumn 2023 edition and IHGF Delhi Fair-
Furniture are in full swing, I am sure our member exporters are busy with preparations for an impactful
                   showcase and fruitful business.
Your Council continues to organise workshops and one day seminars in various clusters. These have
been opportunities to interact and share views on topics like, Teen Guna Tees Tak - Enhancing the
Volume of Exports; Design for Packaging; ECGC Schemes; CITES & Regulatory Requirements; Trade
Dispute Claim Settlement Mechanism & Debt Recovery; Brand Building and Promotion of Handicraft
Products in International Market, etc. Further, continuing with our efforts towards achieving quantum
jump in exports, we are adopting a multi-pronged approach including design intervention, productivity
enhancement, improved packaging and brand building. In this regard, the Council organised a
stakeholders meeting on Design Interventions and Packaging solution at Agra, Firozabad, Jaipur and
Jodhpur. In the days to come workshops on these subjects will be organised at various craft clusters.
I urge each one of you to continue to attend these sessions and benefit from the same.

Your valuable suggestions are welcome at chairman@epch.com.
